Dear Parents and Dancers,

Costume notes have been sent home with your dancers. Costume fees and dance tuition through December are due by your last dance class in December. Costume fees are non-refundable, as they must be ordered through costume companies. Costume checks should be made out to LYNN’S DANCE STUDIO or you may put cash in an envelope labeled with the student’s name. Orders for costumes need to be placed by the first of January to ensure prompt delivery by May.

Pictures of costumes are posted at the studio. Most female students will need to have pink ballet shoes, pink tights, and black tap shoes. Some students will also need tan tights, black or tan jazz shoes, or inexpensive canvas tennis shoes to decorate. These items are noted on your costume note and/or the costume picture at the studio. Male dancers will need black tap shoes and ballet shoes.

Christmas Break

The dance studio will be closed for Christmas from Sunday, December 22nd through Sunday, January 5th. Classes will resume on Monday, January 6th. Have a safe and happy holiday. Enjoy your time with family and friends! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Recital Information

Dress Rehearsals: Thursday, May 15th & Friday, May 16th (times to be announced)

Recital: Saturday, May 17th (times to be announced)

The dress rehearsal and recitals are held at the Brandon High School Performing Arts Center. A recital fee will be due the first week in April. We are looking forward to lots of fun and hard work with the dancers as we begin to learn our recital numbers in January.

Studio Information

Just a friendly reminder as we are still trying to clean in-between classes, try to arrive promptly at your class time so the waiting room does not get so congested. Parents remember if you are bringing your dancers in, please get them settled in a chair with their dance shoes on and then come back at the end of class for pick-up.

Do not forget to sign up for studio text alerts. If the studio is closed for weather or an emergency a Remind text will be sent out along with a Facebook post. We also use text alerts to send out updates about vacations and/or studio activities. The instructions are below and there is a sheet at the studio on how to sign-up.

Waiver of Liability Relating to Coronavirus/COVID-19

The novel coronavirus, COVID-19, has been declared a worldwide pandemic by the World Health Organization. COVID-19 is reported to be extremely contagious. The state of medical knowledge is evolving, but the virus is believed to spread from person-to-person contact and/or by contact with contaminated surfaces and objects, and even possibly in the air. People reportedly can be infected and show no symptoms and therefore spread the disease. The exact methods of spread and contraction are unknown, and there is no known treatment, cure, or vaccine for COVID-19. Evidence has shown that COVID-19 can cause serious and potentially life threatening illness and even death.

Lynn’s Dance Studio cannot prevent you [or your child(ren)] from becoming exposed to, contracting, or spreading COVID-19 while participating in our services or premises. It is not possible to prevent against the presence of the disease. Therefore, if you choose to participate and/or enter onto Lynn’s Dance Studio’s premises or any premises where the recital will be held, you may be exposing yourself to and/or increasing your risk of contracting or spreading COVID-19.

ASSUMPTION OF RISK: I have read and understood the above warning concerning COVID-19. I hereby choose to accept the risk of contracting COVID-19 for myself and/or my children in order to participate and/or enter the dance studio’s premises or the premises of wherever the dance recital may be held. These services are of such value to me [and/or to my children,] that I accept the risk of being exposed to, contracting, and/or spreading COVID-19 in order to participate and/or enter either the studio or recital premises in person.

WAIVER OF LAWSUIT/LIABILITY: I hereby forever release and waive my right to bring suit against Lynn’s Dance Studio and its owners, officers, directors, managers, officials, trustees, agents, employees, or other representatives in connection with exposure, infection, and/or spread of COVID-19 related to utilizing Lynn’s Dance Studio’s services and premises in addition to any premises the recital may be held. I understand that this waiver means I give up my right to bring any claims including for personal injuries, death, disease or property losses, or any other loss, including but not limited to claims of negligence and give up any claim I may have to seek damages, whether known or unknown, foreseen or unforeseen.

CHOICE OF LAW: I understand and agree that the law of the State of Michigan will apply to this contract.

I HAVE CAREFULLY READ AND FULLY UNDERSTAND ALL PROVISIONS OF THIS RELEASE, AND FREELY AND KNOWINGLY ASSUME THE RISK AND WAIVE MY RIGHTS CONCERNING LIABILITY AS DESCRIBED ABOVE:
